Passion Fruit

The name passion fruit originates from the shape of the flower, whose elements recall the Passion and the crucifixion of Jesus: the corolla, in fact, recalls a crown of thorns, while the pistils recall the nails of the crucifixion.

Property

Rich in vitamins and minerals, passionflower contains many antioxidants and is a good source of fiber, regulates bowel functioning and cholesterol levels, is slightly laxative and protects the intestinal mucous membranes, helps digestion and stimulates the immune system

Nutritional Values

A passion fruit, weighing 18 grams, provides our body with 0.4 grams of protein, 4.21 grams of carbohydrates, of which 2.02 grams of sugar, 0.13 grams of fat and 1.9 grams of fibers. Contains 5 mg of sodium and 63 mg of potassium and does not contain cholesterol.

The transformation laboratory complies with European and Italian standards and is strictly controlled and certified HACCP and Organic. It is located in San Filippo del Mela (ME) Italy.

The company has innovation in agriculture at the base of its existence and has started, since 2010, a pioneer, a commercial production of passion fruit (Passiflora edulis f. Edulis) in an area that is particularly suitable, near the coast north eastern Tyrrhenian of Sicily.
